Cultural Integrity
Palmerston has been increasing cultural integrity awareness for several years. Each year we increase the work we are doing in this space.
Every year level uses Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge and understandings in units of inquiry. Units of inquiry look at Australia’s history in relation to our First Nations People, and the knowledge that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have used over centuries.
The school librarian and teachers have spent considerable time resourcing the school, with many books in the library for students to borrow and for teachers to use.
We are increasing the art around our school to highlight the culture of First Nations People.
