Students can come along with their class and preview the books they may like to purchase prior to books going on sale at the 2023 Scholastic Book Fair 04 Sept to 07 September.
This term the Year 3 unit of inquiry is ‘Energy’. We have been investigating the different forms of energy, how energy can be transferred and how Earth’s movements affect our everyday lives. We will be visiting Questacon to enrich our learning experiences in a hands on, engaging environment.
Details of the excursion are as follows:
Venue: Questacon, King Edward Terrace, Parkes ACT
Date: Friday 1st September 2023
Transport: By bus to venue
Departure: Departing at 9:15am
Returning to school: 2:45pm.
Cost: $22 per student
Items to bring: Fruit break, recess, lunch, water.
Please return the permission note and payment to the front office by25th August 2023.
Our Annual Book Fair will be at PDPS during Week 7 and Week 8. During Week 7 students will come with their class to browse the Fair and write wish lists. During Week 8 the Fair will be open before and after school for buying.

TRANSPORT: Air-conditioned, seat belt equipped coaches provided by Away We Go Tours Canberra.
COST: $380. Payment and notes must be finalised by 3rd Aug 2023. Late notes and payments can not be accepted after this date.
ACCOMMODATION: Students will be accommodated in dormitory style lodges with 6-11 students per room.
MEALS: Most meals will be provided by Outdoor Pursuits Cooba Camp. Students will need to bring their own morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for the first day along with a drink bottle.
ATTENDING STAFF: All Year 5 teachers will attend the camp; LSA support will be provided; an executive teacher will be present; and a qualified first aid staff member will attend.

Purpose of Excursion:As part of the Year 5 IMP Band Program Woodwind, schools are combined to rehearse as a Concert Band to share music being studied, to participate in instrument specific workshops and other musical activities. Students will eat lunch at the first break and may have a small snack upon their arrival back at school. To assist us with planning and preparation of the excursion.

Come and spend time in your child’s classroom while they take you on a tour of learning, stay and have a go at some of the learning and maybe some games.
10.30 on the Blacktop, join us in listening to our School Bands demonstrate their learning!
We hope to see as many of you as we can --- bring grandparents and any relations along as well!
Our program will begin on Monday 18th September and end on Friday 22nd September 2023 and will be held at the Gungahlin Leisure Centre. Students will attend a 60-minute lesson each day for 5 days. You are more than welcome to attend and observe your child’s progress throughout the program, please be aware that there may be a spectator fee to pay to watch your child.
Registrations are done online through Royal Life Saving (see permission/information note for details - available at the front office or on this website). Depending if your child is in Group 1 or Group 2, will determine the session time you will need to choose upon registering. The cost of the program is $50 *Payment not made to the school*
Children will travel to and from the Gungahlin Leisure Centre by bus.
