This term the Small Group classes unit of inquiry is ‘Connections’. We have been learning abouthow First Nations people use and care for the environment and how it has changed through time.We will be visiting the National Museum of Australia to enrich our learning experiences in a hands on and engaging environment.

This term students in year 4 have been investigating food cycles and food chains including how humans can impact the food chain. As a culmination to this unit of work, students will attend the Canberra City farm where they will be able to see their understanding gained from the unit in a practical way. Half the day students will visit the Jerrabomberra Wetlands and see the lifecycles at work in the natural environment.

Palmerston Primary small group setting has been invited to participate in the ACT Dream Cricket Gala Day held at Canberra Grammar School. The Dream Cricket program engages its participants through modified and adaptive cricket themed activities. Dream Cricket Gala Days are a celebration of inclusivity, affirmation, and connection through sport for people of all ages and abilities, run by Dream Cricket Australia.

Get your colour on, Palmerston Colour Explosion School Fun Run fundraiser is off to a great start! We have raised $2325 so far.
The Colour Explosion School Fun Run will be in week 5. Preschool beginning of the week groups and years K, 1 and 2 are on Tuesday 7th November, and Preschool end of the week groups are on with years 3, 4, 5, and 6 on Thursday 9th November.
Not only are we hosting an awesome explosion event, students can win up to 15 awesome automated incentive prizes by fundraising via online sponsorship donations.
Students have received a sponsorship book with instructions on setting up their cybersafe, online fundraising profile at www.australianfundraising.com.au. If you need another booklet please see the front office staff. This is an entirely online fundraiser; all cash donations must be converted to online donations to redeem your prizes.
Please bring a white shirt to school and give it to your classroom teacher to mind for you for the big day. The event will be after lunch both days. If you do NOT want your child getting squirted with colour, please inform your classroom teacher and there will be an alternative run for them where they will not get squirted.
